Peak measuring magnifier 714 with 8x magnification, focusable and scale 0.1 mm with a measuring length of 50 mm in steel design
This special measuring magnifier consists of a pivoting aplanatic lens (distortion-free imaging up to the margin), a sliding pin for focussing and an all-metal base with an oblique laser-engraved scale in millimetres and inches. On the metal base there is a scale with 0.1 mm increments on one side and an inch scale with 0.005” on the other side. This shape makes it possible to obtain a wider functional area for observation. The lens can be rotated 360º. For the most demanding inspection requirements where extremely good imaging properties are required.
This extremely robust magnifier has been specially developed for the shop floor for when distances of up to 50 mm length need to be measured in increments of 0.1 mm.
An aplanatic lens system consisting of 2 plano-convex lenses which are arranged with their curved (convex) side facing each other and thanks to this arrangement give a distortion-free image with sharp edges. These plano-convex lenses are mainly made of glass. Aplanatic lens systems are used in magnifiers when they need to have excellent imaging properties up to the margin. Due to their significantly better imaging properties, such magnifiers differ from “standard” magnifiers with biconvex lenses, since the distortions that normally occur in the margin area are totally eliminated.
